How Can You Get involved?
We want you to be a part of this fun blockbuster summer series. There are multiple to get involved; you can pray for the series, invite your friends/neighbors/co-workers to attend, and you can join a volunteer team. Listed below are the volunteer serving opportunities that we have available.
This team will be involved in the construction of all set pieces and décor elements for the series. During the month of May individuals or small teams can set their own schedule for completing minor projects. In addition, there will be scheduled “build nights” with the whole team, especially the week of May 19-25 to fully implement the theme for preview weekend. Aptitude in the areas of carpentry, painting, illustration, and/or creative artistry are a plus.
These individuals will be available before and after services throughout the series to supervise theme-related games, displays, and activities set up in the atrium. They will strive to ensure those taking part are having a good time and they will make an effort to engage and connect with everyone that visits their station.
This team will help fully implement the Movies @ Metro theme “from the streets to the seats”. In addition to normal First Impressions-type activities, this team will be involved in extending the atrium theme outside the four walls of the church. (Details to come)
Clean Up Crew
This team will be responsible for light cleaning in auditorium and atrium areas after the Saturday night services and in between the two Sunday services throughout the series. Tasks will including sweeping floors, spot vacuuming, trash pick-up, and trash receptacle emptying.
This team will be involved in distributing free popcorn, candy, and soda before the services throughout the series. Even more important than providing the snacks will be warmly greeting all you come in contact with and creating an environment of friendliness and hospitality that encourages guests to come back again.
Photo Booth Crew
These individuals will be available before and after services throughout the series to assist those utilizing the photo booth area. Even more important than providing an area for great pictures will be warmly greeting all you come in contact with and creating an environment of friendliness and hospitality that encourages guests to come back again. Aptitude in the area of cell phone photography is a plus.
These individuals will provide additional security and monitoring, specifically at both entrances, before and after the services when there is an increased number of children in the atrium and throughout the lower level of the building.
Tear Down Crew
This team will be involved in the tear down and deconstruction of all set pieces and décor elements at the conclusion of the series. The team should be available for several hours after the second service on June 23 and possibly additional time periods to complete demo from June 24-26.
